Demi : When was the band formed? Tell me the history.
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : Dika with our old guitarist Bhey wants me to join the band, we tried to make a song material in training sessions. Then at the end of 2011, we agreed to form a band with the name POURRITURE. Back in that tine, the bass position filled by Egy, but did not last long, in the mid of 2012 he resigned and was replaced by Rizky Junior. and in early 2013, Bhey unfortunately had to resign for his own personal reasons, and eventually filled by Demon (Deny) who was still a part of OSMOSIS. At that time, we started to get fit each other and start working on the first concept and the new song material.
Demi : After Pourriture demo was successfully released, are you guys going to create a full album?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : That's for sure, but for now..no release date has been set yet. But, we still in the process of making this album.
Demi : Can you tell me the ideas and themes that contained in the demo?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : The idea came from Dika (Vocals). He recommends several musical concepts, concept stories in the cultivation of this material. He gave many good references, either from watching movies, real events around, and from some experience. And its end we agreed and fit with the theme.
Demi : Specificly, what kind of DEATH METAL are you guys playing?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : Mostly brutal technical death metal, although it would probably be a lot of other opinions which describe about our music, but we give freedom to those who want to argue about it.
Demi : What lyrical theme are you using?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : About destruction that caused by humans, king of nature, rebelion, savagery, madness era, and construction system.
Demo : I really like the cover of the demo. Who's the maker?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : The cover art is made dirrectly by our guitarist Deny Kurniawan. In addition being a guitarist, he was also an illustrator/art maker, so we chose to utilize the existing potential, while he was worthy and capable, why not.
Demi : What band influence you the most?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : Suffocation, Inveracity, Spawn Of Possession, Hour Of Penance
Demi : What's your favorite releases of 2014 and 2015?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : Gorgasm-Destined to Violate, Behemoth-Satanist, Septycal Gorge-Scourge of the Formless Breed, Carnivored-No Truth Found, and Nectura.
Demi : And what's your current favorite band?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : Inveracity
Demi : What is the most important thing for your band? Releasing more merch or record?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : If both (music & merch) can be balanced, it could be better.. So listeners who like the band's music, will try to find the band's merch itself, and this will affect the demand of those who want to get the
band's merch so much more. But the band would have to be more productive in creating music.
Demi : What's your hope for the Indonesian MetalScene?
Angga Mauliana (Pourriture) : Keep evolving, remains the pride of the
local scene, and keep strong.
