Demi : Please take us through this band's formation history?
Antithesis : Antithesis formed in 2009 in Tangerang. by rio-vocals, Randi - tio guitar - guitar, Ikmal - bass and andi - drums. In mid-2012, our vocalist decide to quit when we want to start recording our first album "Subjugator of Machine" that was released by Breeding Records, a death metal label from tangerang. And after rio decided to quit, our bassist Ikmal finally decided to play bass and vocals for the recording season. after the release of our first album "subjugator of machine", we we decide to choose jaswal to fill the new vocals, because at the time, jaswal also was the one who worked on the lyrics. And until today, antihtesis are :
Jaswal ( pilus ) ; Vocal
Tio ( Kura ) ; Guitar
Randi ( pakong ) : Guitar
Ikmal ( Toge ) : Bass
Andi ( Bayaw ) : Drum
Demi : Where did the band name come from?
Antithesis : The name "Antithesis" taken from the album by one of the most dangerous band called ORIGIN.
Demi : Can you tell us a bit about Antihtesis new album?
Antithesis : Hmm for the 2nd album, we talked a little bit about "orbitals collapse". About characteristics and material, for now being still be kept strictly confidential hehe
Demi : Will there be a difference between the musicality of your previous releases with this album?
Antithesis : That's also a secret hahaha
Demi : What lyrical theme are you using?
Antithesis : As I said, now we talked a bit about "Orbitals Collapse". We picked up the story about world forecasts and Stephen Hawking predictions, that there will be a shooting star that can not be known certainty, or more like x-files!
Demi : What's your biggest influence?
Antithesis : ORIGIN, OBSCURA, DEEDS OF FLESH, SPAWN OF POSSESSIO, SUFFOCATION, BRAIN DRILL, NECROPHAGIST, SEPTYCAL GORGE, FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE, HOUR OF PENANCE, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, BENEATH THE MASSACRE, BEYOND CREATION, and many more! Hehe
Demi : What's your favorite album of 2014 and this year?
Antithesis : Septycal gorge - Scourge of the formless breed!
Demi : How do you feel about the local metalscene lately?
Antithesis : Very nice, a lot of young and dangerous bands coming from all over the Indonesia. may only be further unknown. But no need to be hesitate about the Indonesian metalscene, some people from other countries even mention Indonesia as "Land of death metal"
Demi : In the past 3 years, many local metal bands started popping up, do you feel rivaled?
Antithesis : Feel rivaled? enough to compete in a healthy way, by not dropping each other. I think it would eliminate the feeling of rivaled hehe.
Demi : What's the most important for your band? Produce more merch or record more songs?
Antithesis : Both are important. However, it should still be a balance.
Demi : How is the metalscene near your living area?
Antithesis : We are Antithesis from South Tangerang. We feel quite satisfied with the metal-scene where we stayed now. Just maybe still a lot to learn for those who do not really understand the underground, majority of metalheads and bands here already close enough to embrace one another, just lacking in knowledge for those who are new in the world of metal.
Demi : Do you feel the current Antithesis formation is solid?
Antithesis : Hopefully the universe always bless us, so that we can always solid until the end of time hehe
Demi : Do you and the other Antithesis's members have another activity?
Antithesis : Some of us is working and some of us also are still in college.
Demi : What's your hope for the local scene?
Antithesis : Our hope is that more and more young dangerous bands to continue the trail of Indonesian metal's Godfathers, and I'm sure there will be a regenerated.
